My project could have gone a lot better but I think that could go for everyone as everyone had the major problem of lockdown ruining their plans. But even though lockdown affected my project it still went well. I got what I wanted for my project.

Throughout lockdown, I wasn't feeling the best so I didn’t start my project till later, I should have started it sooner though as I feel I would have definitely done better at everything in this blog and even the final product itself. That is only something I need to improve upon are motivation and time management skills.

The thing that I think went okay at the very least was filming my final product is okay I don't think it's the best though and could have been a lot better in quality.

what happened

so what - what problems there were what I did and what I learned

now what - what could be done better for next time

I filmed my mother cooking a meal for my Multicam project. I decided to do a cooking tutorial/cooking show, I and one of my family members filmed a medium-long shot of my mum explaining and doing each step then another of a close-up of each shot. I filmed the close-up shot and my younger sister filmed the other. throughout the project, I tried adding to my blogger the best I could but my motivation and time management meant I came out with a poor blog which is something I need to improve upon.

The shoot went well and only ran into a small problem as my sister used my mum's phone to film and it stopped as it doesn't have enough storage so we used her phone for the rest. other than that though the shoot went well and weren't any major problems that couldn't be fixed. After filming I realized that to edit I needed to add to my blogger and spend the day writing in my blog and left the editing too late but got it done just barely in time I should have done everything earlier again this is something I need to improve.

For next time I definitely need to get better at managing my time and need to improve my motivation somehow so I came to get things done quickly and on time or I will fail the course and I don't want that to happen. So I should make a specific schedule and an exact date for when each part of my next project should be done and a checklist for each blog so I know exactly what should add to each and what should be put on each blog too.

Comparing mine against a professional
before creating my cooking show I analysed a few to see the similarities and differences between them to see what I could include in my piece to make it similar to other cooking shows.

Some of the shows I analysed the shots they had were, one of the person preparing the food and explaining simply what they was doing, and the other shot was a close up of the food itself being prepared. It would cut to that shot every so often so each step could be clearly seen and understood by the viewer. In my cooking show I had similar shots like the close up of the food being prepared and one slightly different of my mum preparing the food and explaining each step in the same frame.

In the shows I analysed, while they would make the food they would say multiple times how easy or simple it is to prepare and what your friends and family would think of you as a cook if you made this for them. In mine, I did have my mum say a couple times that this meal is something nice to have with a family meal so in some way I did have what the original show had.

In pretty much every single cooking show they had a list of the ingredients come up before they make the food so the audience knows what to get so they can make the food as the chef goes along. In mine I forgot to add this as I forgot it was a thing, in the shows I analysed they did show the ingredients on screen but I was so used to seeing them and not paying attention to them so I didn't take note of it. So, my cooking show is defiantly missing a big part of what cooking shows usually have in them. in the one YouTube cooking tutorial I analysed they didn't list the ingredients on screen but said the measurements and what ingredients while they prepared the meal, in mine my mum listed what she'd be using before she started to prepare it so I did in a way make it similar to cooking tutorial which is what I wanted to create a tutorial or cooking show, which is what I made something that is somewhere in between.

  1. FORMATIVE : You must return to your research page : Create primary research for the audience you intend… gather data to determine the context and content of your live piece. What is the demographic for your piece? How are you using your research (interpreting) to influence your filming? Your editing?

You have not yet created documents (storyboarding/shot list, script?) and uploaded to your production page? What actually is your plan? You were asked to do this in Feb. This is not good enough if you would like to progress to the end of this academic year.

Production page : Please make your film visible (public or unlisted) Remember to connect your intended target audience to where this is applied in your piece.

Evaluation : Follow the Fox sessions for your guide to reflection. Evaluate if you have reached your audience and how… Evaluate Ideas page, Research, Plan and production. Use Rolfe et al as detailed in sessions.

  2. Summative REFER feedback : Please describe whether you have reached the intended audience and HOW you have reached them in your film. What specifically appeals to your audience and how you have tackled this in your cooking show.
